Memorial museum for Tsushima-maru

English is following.

I've been to a memorial museum
for remembering the tragedy of Tsushima-maru.
Tsushima-maru was a ship for refugees
escaping from the battle of Okinawa in World War II.
1788 people were recorded in the boarding list.
More than the half were elementary school children.
Tsushima-maru was attacked by a U.S. submarine,
and 1418 people died
(It is said that there were many people who were not
recorded).
I heard that some other refugees' ships were also attacked
and sunk.

I knew about the Tsushima-maru
when I was in an elementary school student.
However I've known first time that
the survivors were ordered not to tell about the tragedy
at that time.
I was about to cry when I saw pictures of children who died.

This museum near Naminoue beach is very small
and few people visit.
